Charles O’Brien, Listing and Architectural Research Director at Historic England, will talk about the regime for designation of historic assets and the role played by HE in advising the Department of Culture, Media and Sport on applications to add buildings and archaeological sites to the National Heritage List for England. As part of this he will outline the principles underlying selection and grading.
